Day 3, #WriteOut '25. I'm Heading to Middle Schools to Do Professional Development But Took a Moment in a Parking Lot to Sketch a Poem

I love the winds. They remind me of sleeping in in Ireland or on the shores of England. They remind me of all the nights having hoping windows in my Danish Skurvogn. They also get me excited for winter storms, and the idea the Rudolph is likely to get swept away in one.

This morning, the last of the winds are blowing out of Connecticut in true Nor'Eastern fashion. They were fierce in colonoscopy prep #2 at 3 a.m. - I was like, "Oh, God. What are you doing to me? Not only is this horrible, but the house might blow away."

All went well. It's done for another three years, and I guess I'm glad I go because genetically I'm inclined to the ugly. I just wish they'd modernize the procedure somehow.

Meanwhile, in the tradition of #WriteOut, I'm using the Awaken Your Senses Choice Board to contemplate the world around me each day - my place in Southern Connecticut. I knew I wanted to play with the winds because the gusts were messing with my hair in the parking lot as I started jotting down words for the day.

It's Day 3 of a tradition I love. Wishing you all the best.
