Today is the Day - @CWPFairfield is Arriving to Support @StagsVB & Coach Somera's Leadership @FairfieldU. We Gotta Write! A'ight?! POW!

It is the Power of Words (POW!) and the debut of the 12th edition of our annual publication of teacher and student writing. We work hard all summer with our young adult literacy labs and that effort pays off with our celebration of stories, narratives, scripts, poetry, and essays. This year, as we were Writing Our Lives & Engineering Human Togetherness, we had the privilege of hearing from Coach Nancy Somera - a leader who has brought back-to-back MAAC championships. 

The game is against Siena and it is at 4 p.m. - I'll be at a table to oversee the young writers and their families picking up their copies of the published work. Then, it's action time as the Stags do what they've been doing all season....demonstrating teamwork and hitting hard! 

We also wish to welcome Meika Wagner who has been stellar at helping us try something new as a roll out of our community-engaged work at Fairfield University. We look forward to being at the net to cheer on the team for the WIN!

Parking is in the Kelly Parking Lot and the game is in the Leo D. Mahoney arena. Admission is free, so come join us for the game. 

I'm proud of the 158 young people who wrote with us this summer and I can't wait to get their copies into their well-deserved hands. Several years ago, we thought hard about how we could support K-12 writers across southern Connecticut and POW! was one of our answers. 

Today's game is an additional iteration to the work we do.
