Wonderful to Be with he Mother & Grandmother of the Bride (We Haven't Been Together Since the Murray Wedding in Kentucky a Few Years Ago)

It was abnormally warm for October and we almost reached 85 (which is not fun in black tie attire). I opted not to do the 007 bowtie, but a longer tie instead. I didn't want to sweat and did my best to stay cool in the church and in the reception. It was warm.

It was also beautiful. Remarks by the bride and groom were memorable and, as Kathy noted, Cole definitely was full of emotions as the ceremony carried forward. There is not doubt how much he loves Jillian and, as everyone remarked, he's a great addition to the family. It was wonderful to see Tyler, his girlfriend, Joanna's brother, and her mother, Terry, up in these parts, as we were all together just a short while ago at the beautiful wedding of Justin and Joanna. Seems like yesterday we were stomping past the tornado ruins of Mayfield. Phew.

Now it's Sunday and I need to get back to grading. I was on a roll when I looked up at the clock and realized, I should be getting dressed so I could head over to the occasion.

Last year I was the Official of two weddings. This year, I'm simply an attendee. The appetizers were something else and now I need to figure out a new way to wrap dates. They were so good.

I'm happy for the couple and wish them the best in their new life. Jillian passed the bar, is now practicing law, and has always been designed for greatness.

Will ride to think back to the day Joanna came to my office and said, "I know you taught in Kentucky. I read your dissertation. My mother lives there, and I'm coming to study with you." Soon, Kate came to CWP and the rest is history. What a wild ride life can be!
